This year Cascadia Quilt Workshops is pleased to offer two workshops during our 2 day retreat-style event on Oct 13-14, 2017 (9am to 4pm each day). Each year we offer two workshops to inspire your creativity!
ANN SHAW WORKSHOP: DRAGONFLY
Ann Shaw is once again introducing a new pattern in her Artisan series – “Dragonfly”. Dragonflies (Anisoptera) are wonders of nature. Strong, agile fliers, dragonflies dart effortlessly among stems and flowers. They move easily forward and backward, suddenly change direction and even remain stationary in flight. Their two pairs of wings shimmer with iridescent, metallic-like colors that have long made them a favorite of quilters. Dragonflies are found throughout the world, and in some cultures symbolize power and poise. This pierced dragonfly pattern features this insect’s beautiful iridescent wing colors. An Ann Shaw Quilting Artisan design, this pattern features detailed piecing for experienced quilters.
A brief discussion introduces the methods and techniques of freezer paper templates. You will then prepare a freezer paper template for your pattern and begin the process of selecting fabrics for your design. We will also discuss sewing methods and sewing order to complete your wallhanging.
If you prefer, you may also choose any of Ann Shaw’s patterns for this workshop.
Brought to you by Fiddlesticks Quilt Shop and Ann Shaw Quilting, this two day event is being held this year at Clark College at Columbia Tech Center (18700 SE Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA. 98683). A catered lunch is provided both days. Beverages and snacks will also be available throughout the day.
Please contract us if you have any questions!!
